		<description>...I just enable WPA (too many slightly older cards don&#039;t like WPA2) and leave it at that.  Things like hiding the SSID I just don&#039;t see as necessary by the time you&#039;ve got proper encryption.</description>

Personally, I have a spare linux server that I setup ad-hoc SSH tunnels to whenever I&#039;m roaming and need to connect over insecure network to a service that doesn&#039;t support SSH/SSL natively. But google will give you many options and walkthroughs for lots of different ways to setup some form of VPN that suits you...</description>
