Hi, I have been having trouble getting parts or areas of the game to load. It seems to hang and nothing happens, after numerous emails the tech help have been of no help.
Another annoyance is the fact that you have to have a Click and Buy account and maintain it to be able to keep a membership. This advice was sort from the Moshi Monster team and upon their advice that this was not the case, the Click and Buy account was cancelled. A couple of days later - a Friday afternoon, the membership was cancelled and it seems even though we only had the membership for a little over a week and 6 months was paid for, we have not been able to get a refund, and Moshi Monsters cannot help. Very frustrating and a very expensive mistake for me taking out the memberhip as I have 3 children, and Moshi Monsters have said they will not be able to reinstate the membership and Click and Buy are not refunding the money.

For game-designers, it would be great if you'd publish details of the game-logic and the weightings on various outcomes. Perhaps most famously, Blizzard started publishing complete details of everything for their games many years ago - c.f. the Diablo games, where every value and every algorithm was put online and given clear and detailed descriptions and explanations.

But there's a separate issue here, that the core game of Moshi Monsters is weighted in such a way that ordinary players are required to do a substantial amount of reverse-engineering in order to play the game / experienced the content at a moderate level.

I'm guessing that's deliberate (as with the food values, which are so much effort to work out), but it has always struck me as an odd game-design decision, and it's a frequently occurring topic of complaint among the handful of Moshi Monster players I've spoken to in person about the game. Those players were nearly all in their 30's or 40's, so this could just be their problem for not being in the target market :)

From your posting, I'm wondering if you've got plans to change the former (full game details) or the latter (just enough game details to take the drudgery out of some of the essential in-game activities)?

Howdy Adam,
Thanks for the feedback. It's always good to get outside opinions as it helps us to improve what needs improving. We have an active community that is very involved in helping us this way as well. We're lucky to have people in the community and people like you who care enough about MoshiMonsters to comment. thanks for that.
Just to address one misunderstanding you've printed. Food and items are not the only way to increase health of your monster. In fact, interacting with your monster, tickling it, spending time with it, improves the health. Food just makes it happen faster :D
We're happy to provide you with facts about how Moshi Monsters works and game design so you don't have to guess. We do need to post more explicit information about it, we realise. Apologies for that. You can reach us to ask us about Moshi Monsters by emailing us at helpme@moshimonsters.com

Thanks again for taking so much time to review us! Happy Monstering!
